As South Africa commemorates 50 years since Soweto Uprising on 16 June 1976, the Centre for Social Justice and partners invite you to walk in support of access, education parity and inclusion. Join us for the #Action4Inclusion Annual Social Justice Walk as we walk from Stellenbosch via the Old Helshoogte Pass to Pniël to clear student debt.
Beyond its fundraising purpose, the walk symbolises hope, collaboration, and contribution to levelling the academic playing field through redressing past injustices while building a better future for all. Supported by the Stellenbosch Municipality and Visit Stellenbosch, the Walk showcases the Dwarsrivier Valley—a hidden gem of cultural heritage and indigenous beauty in our region.
The 16km Walk follows the Pilgrimage of Hope route from Stellenbosch to Kylemore via the Old Helshoogte Pass and will bring together alumni, captains of industry, colleagues, and friends united by a shared commitment to social justice. Your leadership in this initiative would underscore SU’s dedication to inclusivity and transformation as we work towards shaping a brighter tomorrow for our students together.
