DESCRIPTION:UKU’ZINZA: an invocation from the Nguni people that speaks to being grounded\, being calm.  Stillness is a mechanism for survival\, a strategy for imagination\, and an ability and persistence.  In a world losing its breath\, where breathlessness pervades\, we witness the tremors in our bodies and the depths we must dive to sustain life. This exhibition explores Breath and  Breathing through states of duress and ongoing extractions\, using Rehearsal as a mode of  Improvised philosophies.  \nBreath: Breathing is a fundamental act: taking air into the lungs and expelling it\, exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide. Breath manifests in various forms: puff\, pant\, gasp\, wheeze\, blow\,  sigh\, impart\, imbue\, transfuse\, murmur\, whisper\, utter. Breathing is about continuing\, persisting\, insisting\, remaining\, holding\, being present\, and having a place. How have our breath been disturbed\, disrupted and dislocated? How have we sustained ourselves throughout these interruptions?  \nBreathing through States of Duress: We breathe through the duress of histories of colonialism\, enslavement\, apartheid\, wars and ongoing genocides\, wounded by its impacts and suffocating under its weight. Yet\, we Insist\, on finding ways to Improvise our breath\, our Aliveness\, and our existence.  \nRespiration: Breathing in states of duress and harm\, ukuphefumla ngenxeba – to breathe through the wound. How our lungs enact somatic breathing by tracing the vascular systems of survival\, cultural recovery\, hope\, courage\, and strength in the quest to stay in the rhythm of our breath and thus life. Ukuphefumla – to breathe\, umphefumlo – the spirit\, attends to a place of altered and interrupted destiny. The compositions of how to breathe in breathlessness are embodied in toyi-toyi\, the southern African dance used in political protests or in voguing movements used in queer culture – the life that pulses in exaltation below our feet\, opening a portal to Aliveness. This practice of breathing in situ\, being in ritual with oneself\, is a profound expression of insistence.  \nRehearsal: A rehearsal is a session of exercise\, a drill\, a dry run\, or a practice in preparation for a ceremony. It involves repetition to align\, figuring out interpretation\, mapping pathways\, and creating contingency plans. This exhibition explores Breath and  Breathing through states of duress and ongoing extractions\, using Rehearsal as a mode of  Improvised philosophies.  \nBreath: Breathing is a fundamental act: taking air into the lungs and expelling it\, exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide. Breath manifests in various forms: puff\, pant\, gasp\, wheeze\, blow\,  sigh\, impart\, imbue\, transfuse\, murmur\, whisper\, utter. Breathing is about continuing\, persisting\, insisting\, remaining\, holding\, being present\, and having a place. How have our breath been disturbed\, disrupted and dislocated? How have we sustained ourselves throughout these interruptions?  \nBreathing through States of Duress: We breathe through the duress of histories of colonialism\, enslavement\, apartheid\, wars and ongoing genocides\, wounded by its impacts and suffocating under its weight. Yet\, we Insist\, on finding ways to Improvise our breath\, our Aliveness\, and our existence.  \nRespiration: Breathing in states of duress and harm\, ukuphefumla ngenxeba – to breathe through the wound. How our lungs enact somatic breathing by tracing the vascular systems of survival\, cultural recovery\, hope\, courage\, and strength in the quest to stay in the rhythm of our breath and thus life. Ukuphefumla – to breathe\, umphefumlo – the spirit\, attends to a place of altered and interrupted destiny. The compositions of how to breathe in breathlessness are embodied in toyi-toyi\, the southern African dance used in political protests or in voguing movements used in queer culture – the life that pulses in exaltation below our feet\, opening a portal to Aliveness. This practice of breathing in situ\, being in ritual with oneself\, is a profound expression of insistence.  \nRehearsal: A rehearsal is a session of exercise\, a drill\, a dry run\, or a practice in preparation for a ceremony. Breath manifests in various forms: puff\, pant\, gasp\, wheeze\, blow\,  sigh\, impart\, imbue\, transfuse\, murmur\, whisper\, utter. Breathing is about continuing\, persisting\, insisting\, remaining\, holding\, being present\, and having a place. How have our breath been disturbed\, disrupted and dislocated? How have we sustained ourselves throughout these interruptions?  \nBreathing through States of Duress: We breathe through the duress of histories of colonialism\, enslavement\, apartheid\, wars and ongoing genocides\, wounded by its impacts and suffocating under its weight. Yet\, we Insist\, on finding ways to Improvise our breath\, our Aliveness\, and our existence.  \nRespiration: Breathing in states of duress and harm\, ukuphefumla ngenxeba – to breathe through the wound. How our lungs enact somatic breathing by tracing the vascular systems of survival\, cultural recovery\, hope\, courage\, and strength in the quest to stay in the rhythm of our breath and thus life. Ukuphefumla – to breathe\, umphefumlo – the spirit\, attends to a place of altered and interrupted destiny. The compositions of how to breathe in breathlessness are embodied in toyi-toyi\, the southern African dance used in political protests or in voguing movements used in queer culture – the life that pulses in exaltation below our feet\, opening a portal to Aliveness. This event\, to be held on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2025\, has become an institution in the winelands\, one allowing the public to visit one of Stellenbosch’s most popular wineries during the thrills of the grape harvest wherein they can partake by getting hands and feet dirty and juicy. \nThe ticket price includes one bottle of wine for sharing between two people\, a welcome snack upon arrival and a traditional winelands harvest spread for lunch\, including coffee and dessert. \nLive music will add to the ambience and guests will have the chance to meet the Sperling and Thiel families\, owners of Delheim\, who are your hosts for the day. \nDelheim’s range of premium white\, red and rosé wines will be available for purchase for enjoyment during the event\, as well as to take home. \nTickets fare R950 per adult and R350 for children 12 years or younger. DESCRIPTION:Popular Delheim Harvest Festival set for Last Week-end in January with the vines showing beautiful spring budding in the Cape winelands\, all eyes are already on the vintage of 2025\, and this anticipation includes Simonsberg wine estate Delheim preparing for next year’s popular public Harvest Festival. This event\, to be held on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2025\, has become an institution in the winelands\, one allowing the public to visit one of Stellenbosch’s most popular wineries during the thrills of the grape harvest wherein they can partake by getting hands and feet dirty and juicy. \nThe ticket price includes one bottle of wine for sharing between two people\, a welcome snack upon arrival and a traditional winelands harvest spread for lunch\, including coffee and dessert. \nLive music will add to the ambience and guests will have the chance to meet the Sperling and Thiel families\, owners of Delheim\, who are your hosts for the day. \nDelheim’s range of premium white\, red and rosé wines will be available for purchase for enjoyment during the event\, as well as to take home. \nTickets fare R950 per adult and R350 for children 12 years or younger. Please note that there is a maximum daily capacity of 100 adults and 20 children\, so bookings are on a first-come\, first-served basis.

DESCRIPTION:See the sunset over Table Mountain and a view of the Winelands\, while enjoying a wonderful adventure with friends & family. \nA glass of Muratie’s Lady Alice MCC included for adults and a juice for kids. \n The marked circle route.  It can take you 30 to 45 minutes to reach the top\, so do not arrive at the Trail Centre later than 19h15 to ensure that you have the full experience! \nSunset 19h58 \nLatest time to start hiking back 20h30! (Farm closes 22h00) \nBring extra cash for Muratie wine at the top. (return glasses to the wine stand please) \nBring a blanket and a torch plus good (closed) walking shoes. \nTotal distance of circular route 3.5km. Take a torch\, picnic blanket and jacket. NO SMOKING OR FIRES (which includes the use of gas stoves) on the mountain. Leave no trace – DO NOT LITTER. Return wine glasses to the wine stand please. \nAlcohol to be consumed in a responsible manner.  Stay on hiking trail marked with blue footprints – do NOT follow bike paths. Remember not to leave valuables in your vehicle.  For safety – do not get separated from a group.
